Hope I did not make too many errors in my writing. It's a little scary writing to a former teacher!  I was very good in English and writing, but have been out of school for almost 50 years.  Unbelievable to me.  I feel no different until I look in the mirror.

Just finished the Secret Pearl for the second time. What a great book!! Very well done.

As I have been a fan since the early 90's, I am aware of how prolific a writer you are, I would love to see more of your backlist reprinted as well as more of your new work out more often. (I realize this makes me part of your demanding public, but so be it.)

Please keep up the good work!! I am very much hoping to meet you someday at a book signing. You are my favorite author!!

I just finished Simply Unforgetable, which I enjoyed greatly. I can't wait for the remainder of the series and I know in my heart of hearts you will not disappoint me when the time comes for Claudia to realize that Freyja has been financing her school all these years. Haha!

I have Silent Melody in my library bag, waiting to be read. Now I wonder if I should hunt down the Secret Pearl first from all the praise I have read on the message board. I admit that hunting down a hard-to-find book is half the fun of it. I refuse to resort to eBay unless I absolutely have to. Otherwise, I would miss out on all the lovely booksales where I just might find something else I don't have...

   I started reading about the Bedwyns again and could not bring myself to discard any of them. The more I read the more I appreciated your wonderful ability to breathe life into these characters.  Your writing is superb. I'm so happy the Bedwyns will play a part in the Wallflower series. I feel they are a part of MY family. They are on my shelf forever.

I think I might be a bit obsessed because every time I get a new book, I can't stop until it is finished and most of the time it is within the same day. I think the reason I love your books so much is that you do such a tremendous job of character development and I really care about the characters. Jane Austen is another of my favorite authors and when I read your books I am transported into that same sort of world.

That was my long-winded way of saying thank you. You seem to have the trick of making your readers' care. "The Secret Pearl" was my first Mary Balogh book. It certainly won't be my last.

I started reading your books 3 months ago and managed to get my hands on all six Bedwyn books.  I'm madly in love with that family!.  Wufric's story was the best.  I like the way you involve other members of the family in your stories rather than just the hero and heroine.  I enjoy your style of writing and the characters.  They feel so real!  Looking forward to reading all your other books.  All the best!

Did you do anything with Hector Magnus from Slightly Dangerous?  His character is so wonderfully accident prone.  I would love to see him a hero.  I love to see the underdog sparkle just like Clara who was not beautiful and could not walk in Dancing with Clara. 

Can you let me know if I missed a book with him as the main character?  Can he be Claudia Martin's hero?

By the way, can you write a little faster (smiles)....even though I do enjoy rereading my favorites.

There is nothing I like better than losing myself in one of your  books.  Thank you so much for allowing me that "me" time in this hectic world.  Keep up the great work.

I read them every so often and I get more out of them each time. I've began to know your books about two months ago... I guest at the hotel I work forgot (!) her book - it was 'slightly married'. As I've read the 4th book... I had to take it back home and read it the same evening. Since then I'm in love with the Bedwyn's. I'm reading currently my 4th book Freyja's story.

Yet my favourite is Wulfric's story it reminds me a lot of pride and prejudice.

I'm looking forward to read the 3 last books of the serie and I do know now that it will be difficult for me to leave the Bedwyn's.

Keep on going to write such wonderful stories, they make my day and the 'naive' part of me hopes to find my own Bedwyn ;o)

I have to beg. Please write the story of Miss Portia Hunt and the Marquess of Attinsborough. I love the Marquess. However, I do not nearly feel the same for Portia. She drastically needs someone to loosen her up. I do sympathize with her. She seems strong, and I'm sure some part of her is hurt over being left by Viscount Sinclair.  I see much of Lauren Edgeworth in her and would hope Attinsborough would change her in the same way. As of now though, she is horribly unlikable and easily despised. Please make her character lovable by furthering her story.

Thanks once again for all the wonderful stories you have written. I have 23 novels and 3 novellas of yours in my collection and am attempting to add more all the time.

 As mentioned by others in your guestbook, the older ones are difficult to find. Whenever I travel out of town and come across a used bookstore my husband has to find something else to do as I scour the shelves for any titles I haven't got yet. 

I have to agree with most of your fans and say that the Bedwyns are my favourites(slightly), but that may be because I haven't read many of the other prequels and sequels.

Please continue the great work and thanks for making my world that much brighter with your enchanting stories that are waiting to be read (again and again).

If you could reply to this.  There is a character that I wondered if you were going to give her own book, or if you have and I have missed.  Gwen, Neville Wyatt's sister, the widowed Lady Muir.  I have always wondered about her husband and about her silence on the matter.  Have you done a short story that I have missed on this character.  I would love it that she found some one wonderful.

As a former student of yours and renewed lover of romance novels I just wanted to let you know that I have rediscovered my interest in reading many thanks to you. 

I was recently given Slightly Wicked and Slightly Scandalous and they have totally awakened my interest in reading when I have any spare moment.  Other than that the only book of yours I had read was Red Rose when I was about 15 years old.  That has changed.  The Bedwyns completely took me in.  Even as I read in silence it was like I could hear you reading it aloud in class.

I hope I haven't made too many grammatical errors in this note but I just want you to know that you have a new old fan.

It occurred to me that I have probably dropped off your radar screen and need to pop in to say hi and ask to be added to your newsletter list again.  I'm sitting at my desk with a dead mole at my feet, and the mole's bloodthirsty killer, Christopher the Assassin (my cat), demanding loudly that I admire his latest victim.  I  just had a bowl of popcorn for dinner, followed by a CranRaspberry chaser, and I'm sitting here all twitterpated and unfulfilled, wondering what to do about it.  And then it struck me:  read a Balogh!

The true test of an author's skill is the enduring allure of her writing, the ability to keep drawing her readers back to her books time and again.  You are in the top five of my favorite authors, and that's saying a lot because I am a jaded, picky reader, and my time is too precious to waste on mediocre or even vaguely good books.  Your writing rises far above the mundane.  You never let me down. 

When I want to sink my teeth into a meaty novel that leaves me feeling satisfied in the end, and not cheated along the way, I go to my  Balogh shelf and close my eyes and pick a book, any book.  It doesn't matter what book it is because I  know it will be good.  I don't care if I've read it before, because it's just as good the fifth time as it was the first. 

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and get myself back on  your newsletter list.  Now I have to go perform funeral duty--find a shovel, pick up the dead varmint at my feet, and fling it into the woods.  Then I shall have a serious discussion with The Assassin about his sloppy habits.  A Balogh hero, I shall tell him, would never leave an untidy dead body at the heroine's feet.

I have to say I enjoy all your books.  I just finished the Bedwyn Series (is this also called the Simply books?).  My favorite was Simply Dangerous (Wulfric's story - he was most appealing).

One older book that is one of my all times favorites is Lord Carew's Bride.  I have enjoyed every book that I have ever read of yours (which to say is a considerable number),  I have not been able to obtain the book that had the missing page.  I tried contacting a lady in Washington state (Bev Estep) that you put me on to but she did not have the book either.

I have a question for you. There was a character in "One Night for Love" and "A Summer to Remember" that I thought would soon be a hero but he kind of fell off the radar in the Slightly Series...he was the Marquess of A...(sorry but don't remember the title) . Then, I think I heard him mentioned in Simply Unforgettable - I listened the audiobook - as Portia's escort when Lucien gave her the boot.  Now that he appeared again, should we wait for his story soon? Is he Ms. Martins' hero?
